The APM will feature Arras People's John Thorpe as a guest speaker 28th July in London
The Association for Project Management (APM) is attempting to answer the call of those PPM Professionals challenged by the current economic environment with the help of the Arras People.
Specifically, they are turning to John Thorpe.
Thorpe, Founder and Managing Director of Arras People, as well as a blogger here at The Camel, will present his observations about the 2009 project management scene Tuesday 28th July for APM’s ‘Managing Your Career in an Economic Downturn’ event at the Institute of Arbitrators, Bloomsbury Square, London.
Thorpe will present an overview of the Arras People 2009 Project Management Benchmark Report covering salaries, rates, experience, the current climate and the outlook moving forward. He will also outline good practice in career management during an economic downturn.
“It is great that the 2009 Project Management Benchmark Report is still attracting a great deal of attention“, Thorpe said. “The opportunity to share good practice in career management is important, especially in the current, challenging market place“.
The APM event, scheduled for a 7pm start, will mark the fourth event Thorpe has featured as a headline presenter at in less than a month. Arras People and Maven Training recently hosted breifing sessions for project management clientele at Maven’s London offices, including back-to-back sessions 26th June.
According to the APM’s web site:
“This event will provide an insight into the recruitment market for project and programme management across the UK. It will also provide an insight into the skills and experience that employers are looking for as we move towards the predicted upturn in the economy.”
The event – which will also feature Anil Kotecha, a Senior Manager for Deloitte, as a guest speaker – is fully booked.
