Support Service Isn’t Just For The Established

Arras People and JobCentre Plus have joined forces to work for the improved career prospects for unemployed executives and graduates alike.
As we’ve repeated throughout the summer and will continue to do into the coming winter months, Arras People again urges proactivity amongst those who find themselves out in the cold (so to speak) on the employment front. Too often, though, we’ve found that the rules as we thought applied to our providance of the JobSearch Support Service for Unemployed Professionals are not so stringent and restrictive.
Case in point: it turns out that relatively recent graduates on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) are elgible for the Support Services as well.
Appropriate, really. Because if we’ve learned anything in the six months of work we’ve put into JobSearch, it’s that the job candidates we speak with want – no, need – to be attractive in the eyes of the hiring personnel, regardless of the stage of the hiring process. They’ve been referred to us most often because there’s that little something they’re missing – they’re looking for jobs in the wrong places, the CV fails to highlight what it is they do effectively, they struggle at the job interview stage, and the list is endless in terms of what our focus on assisting these professionals.
If professionals need this even after being a viable member of the working force, there’s little room fo doubting that graduates will be in need of a hand, too. We’re happy to oblige.
We’re extending our hand to the recent graduates who have struggled to get going with their careers since leaving university and facing the real world for the first time. Graduates who want to get into management or executive levels of any kind at some point in there career (and who wouldn’t?) are eligible, provided they are referred to us by their local JobCentre Plus advisor. If you want more information on how to get referred, please go to our DWP page.
The services provided will be very similar to our existing Project Management Careers Clinics, as participants will have a dedicated one-to-one relationship with an Arras People consultant and receive personalised guidance and advice on any of a wealth of areas. Among those:
- personal stocktaking
- CV advice
- project management market intelligence
- new opportunities and job leads
- advice on analysing vacancies
- employer selection techniques
- job applications
- techniques & interviews
