Monday Morning Links – Project Management Benchmark Survey Edition

Editor’s Note: Today’s a big day for Arras People, seeing as we’ve launched the fifth annual Project Management Benchmark Survey. We happily hand over the majority of the content this week in the Monday Morning Links to the industry’s leading report on issues and matters concerning the project management professional.
Without further do…
Not So Cliche Quote of the Week
“Opinions have vested interests just as men have.”
Samuel Butler
Some opinions count, too.
Certainly Ben Bernanke and Alistair Darling’s count when it comes to finances. Sepp Blatter’s view has some significant sway in the football. No doubt your views have a lot of things to say about how things stand in the current project management job market.
Of course we just put you on the same level as Bernanke and Darling. Your opinion really can make a huge difference to an entity bigger than one’s self. The entity for you, naturally, is the project management landscape throughout the UK.
Where to impart your views was an issue prior to 2005; in the UK, there existed no surveys that conveyed the true face of the project management climate. Culling opinions seemed as radical at that time as the iPod. Arras People took it upon themselves to step forward, culling together the views of the pm professional landscape. Five years later, we enter the fifth edition of our annual Project Management Benchmark Survey, and will open it up to professional project managers today to make those opinions known.
The Benchmark Report is about something bigger than just your views – it’s assigning value to what real-life project managers are facing at the moment. Often referred to in the past as the Salary Survey, issues raised such as work/life balance, gender equality, public vs private sector, training & accreditation, in addition to salary/remuneration statistics, have forged the Benchmark Report into a variety of presentations and studies throughout the World as a barometer for where things stand.
If you have vested interest in the elevation of quality project management, turn to us to help set the Benchmark for 2010.
